Sparkling Glass Sinks

Unique and rare are two words that came to mind when I read about these sinks.  They look stunning next to the granite countertops pictured here.

The jewel like tones and unique glimmering traits of glass are now available in the kitchen thanks to new Hard Roc glass kitchen sinks by JSG Oceana.  The company claims their sinks are to be the first of their kind on the market.

A unique formulation of borosilicate glass makes Hard Roc glass thermal shock resistant, stain and scratch resistant, hygienic, non-porous, and easy to clean.  The sinks are available in undermount and drop-in installations in a variety of luminescent colors and designs.

Copper in the Kitchen!

A copper kitchen sink is a great way to add old world charm to a new world kitchen.  Typically they are used in country themed kitchens, but the copper kitchen sink can be used in almost any modern kitchen.

There are some real advantages over a regular kitchen sink.  Copper is naturally antibacterial.  Bacteria and germs can only live on the surface of copper a couple hours.  That's pretty amazing compared to the days it can live on a regular kitchen sink surface.

The common copper kitchen sink designs are drop in, under mounted and farmhouse/apron style.  Drop in and under mounted copper kitchen sinks feature a rim around the top of the sink, this allows them be mounted under your countertop.  However, copper farmhouse sinks, also known as apron sinks, feature a front apron panel that actually is made to stick out past the front of your cabinets, exposing the front part of the sink. Not only does this provide greater functionality for the copper kitchen sink but also adds to the visual aesthetic of your kitchen.
